Akshara is built to respect your privacy. The app runs locally on your computer — your manuscripts and book projects never leave your machine. Here's exactly what we collect, and why.
1. This website (aksharakit.com)
We don't use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or advertising technology on this site. No cross-site tracking. No profiles built from your visit. The only data the site handles is what you voluntarily type into a form.
2. What we collect when you buy a license
Purchases are handled by Paddle, our payment partner and the Merchant of Record for Akshara. Paddle collects the information it needs to process your payment — name, email, billing country, and card details — under their own privacy policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy.
From Paddle, we receive your email address and order details so we can deliver your license key.
3. What we collect when you activate Akshara
When you activate the app with your license key, our license server stores:
- Your email address — so we can resend keys, process refunds, and send the occasional important update;
- License key usage data — AI credit balance and feature usage counts. This is how we track AI credits and prevent abuse.
We do not collect your manuscripts, drafts, outlines, or any book content. None of that leaves your computer. Everything you write in Akshara is stored locally.
4. Email
We'll only email you when it matters:
- delivery of your license key;
- a reply to something you asked;
- occasional notes about important updates or new releases.
We don't send marketing spam, and we don't share your email with anyone.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email akhilmayasharma@gmail.com and we'll handle your request within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD, aepd.es).
6. Data retention
We keep your email and license record as long as your license is active. If you request deletion, we remove your record within 30 days, except where we need to keep minimal purchase records for tax and legal compliance.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
8. Children
Akshara is not intended for people under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes to this page with an updated date at the top.
