Terms of Service
Last updated: April 22, 2026
By downloading or using Akshara (“the Software”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Software.
Akshara is owned and operated by Akhil Sharma, a sole trader based in Granada, Spain (“we” or “us”). Contact: akhilmayasharma@gmail.com.
1. Your license
When you purchase Akshara, we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for writing, formatting, and publishing your own books.
You may not:
- sell, sublicense, share, or publish your license key;
- redistribute the installer or any part of the Software;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the Software;
- use the Software to produce content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights.
2. Your content
You own every word of your manuscript, cover, and any file you create with Akshara. The Software runs locally on your machine — we never receive a copy of your book.
3. Our software
The Akshara application, source code, website, brand, and documentation are our intellectual property. The license above is the only right you receive; all other rights are reserved.
4. Payments and refunds
Purchases are processed by our payment partner Paddle. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.
5. Updates
We may release updates to the Software. Minor updates are included with your license. Major versions may require a new purchase — we'll say so clearly before you pay.
6. Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided “as is”. We make no warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
We're a small independent operation. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost revenue, lost manuscripts, or indirect damages. Please keep backups of your work.
8. Termination
You can stop using Akshara at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate your license if you breach these terms — in which case you must stop using the Software and delete your copy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute that can't be resolved by email will be handled by the courts of Granada, Spain.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
